Designed for quite pointed shoes

Unfortunately, as the picture suggests, the product seems really to be designed for shoes with quite a pointed toe. I hoped it would still work in my ankle boots to stretch the depth of the toe area but it's not really wide enough. The product itself seems reasonable quality but it's just not really what I need and I don't think would be suitable for most men's shoes even though the description says Unisex.
