Useless. A great idea that was poorly implemented
2 of 2 found this helpful I was so excited to get this keyboard cover. Finally I could have a modern phone yet have a qwerty keyboard as well. As soon as I got the keyboard cover in, the very first thing I noticed is that there is no backlight! Why would you design something to be used on a smartphone that doesn't have a backlight! How am I supposed to use this at night!
Secondly if you plan on having a screen protector on your phone the keyboard cover has an extremely delayed and inconsistent touch that will drive you crazy. I have the keyboard cover on a brand new Samsung Galaxy S7 phone and had a ZAGG glass screen cover installed. The keyboard cover works like this: when you install the keyboard cover your current screen moves above the keyboard cover but the area below the keyboard cover becomes just like a normal touchscreen keyboard, and as you press keys on the physical keyboard those keys press down on the screen under them thereby pressing the touch screen keyboard.
This is how Samsung accomplished "no battery needed."
The most annoying feature is how the keyboard constantly misses key presses and is extremely insensitive to touch.
I would truly appreciate it if Samsung would redesign a similar keyboard but one that is powered by the phone so that I backlight can be provided and insensitivity can be corrected. Bluetooth is definitely not the solution since that's provides its own set of problems.
Lastly, just to be clear I do not recommend this keyboard cover at all and I'm very disappointed with Samsung taking advantage of people like myself that have purposefully not switched phones just because we needed a physical keyboard.

Get what you pay for
