Good solid device - but it's a pity that one cannot switch-off its squeaker
The device itself is well-made and reasonably well documented. Buttons feel nice and glow elegantly in the dark. The unit seems to stand bad weather reasonably well. Mine has been installed now for about six months without major issue.
One BIG problem however. It has a VERY loud internal squeaker. Every time one presses a button it squeaks. The squeak is so loud that it can be heard several streets away. In fact, on a quiet night, it can be heard several hundred metres away! Much to my surprise, the squeaker cannot be disabled. And because all the electronics are potted in some sort of silicone compound, one cannot de-solder it either.
Eventually I was able to reduce the noise by covering the squeaker with an old rubber equipment foot. This effectively blocked the squeaker's hole and reduced the squeak to a reasonable level - which kept my neighbours happy. But it is such a shame that the squeaker cannot be switched off in its firmware

Cheap but perfectly adequate
These are cheap generic adaptor rings. But they work perfectly well.

Flimsy, cheaply-made and suffers a potentially serious design fault
5 of 5 found this helpful The product is quite flimsy, made of relatively thin steel. It weighs 1.6kg as opposed to the 2.1kg of a rival product that I compared it with. The label on the tilt pressure control knob is just a piece of paper. Much more seriously, this product has a serious resign flaw. There is inadequate clearance inside the unit. This forces the cylinder actuating lever internals to be pushed down and foul on the gas cylinder release button when the chair is tilted right back - thus causing the chair to go down unexpectedly. IMO this makes the device very unsatisfactory and potentially quite dangerous,
