Good value and quality product
Latest model uses 2115 chipset by Asmedia, one of the better quality manufacturers. This chipset version supports both UASP for better USB3 transfer, and a proper ATA pass through for SMART. What that means is diagnosis apps like CrystalDisk can identify any faults on the hard drive you put inside, because the chipset allows it to read the SMART statistics over the USB link. Cheaper USB3 enclosures with old cheap chipsets don't let you do that, so apps like CrystalDisk simply refuse to work.
Also has metal case for easy heat transfer to cool the drive. Overall a solid built product. Costs a few pounds more than other USB3 enclosures you see on ebay, but you're paying that extra for quality. I think its worth it.
