Bite the bullet, splash the cash!
Stick them in a maglite pouch for edc pliers and spanners, just so useful.

Simply useless
The plastic is just the wrong polymer, it is far to brittle. The lugs designed to retain the female parts snap off every time they are inserted into the hole. Nearly all also have a nubbin left from the injection molding which fouls the hole; once the nubbin is painstakingly filed off the retaining lugs snap off anyway. This should not be sold, they may be very cheap but the wasted time is not.

Worth buying, for less money.
I bought the cheap one off the bay first, don't even bother. The £2.99 are uncomfortable, fall apart and not worth the hassle.
By comparison this one is great and feels nice too. However, it tools weeks to turn up and is very expensive. So, get the proper job but try and find for less, I imagine cheaper from VW direct.
