Great value VR beginners kit. Recommended only for the 'tech savvy'
I would only recommend the DK2 to the more 'tech savvy' individual who wants to try out VR on a budget. It was not easy to set up the software because the latest version of Oculus Home no longer officially supports the DK2. Setup required me to run a command (I found on a forum) in Command Prompt to bypass a buggy update check. You then have to skip the hardware checks because it says it doesn't detect the headset (but it works anyway). Unfortunately the VR interface needs the hand controllers (not supported by the DK2) so you are stuck with using the on-screen menu only. Never mind though, there are still lots of free games and demos that work without the motion controllers, all of which you can access via the Oculus Home software. You just have to load them with the mouse on-screen.
Works in Steam too!!
Again it wasn't straight forward to set up. Basically you need to opt into the beta participation programme in Steam and SteamVR for the DK2 to work, but it DOES work! I use the Steam Controller and it works well with the DK2. Again there are a lot of games that don't require motion controllers. I just searched for Oculus Rift supported games within Steam that use a gamepad. There's lots to choose from.
Requires a decent graphics card. I am using the MSI GTX 1050ti which is an entry level card and it works well on medium quality settings.
Conclusion:
Definitely worth it! There's still lots that you can do with this kit. A great starter package for first time VR users. The DK2 is not dead yet. Something to wet your appetite while you save up for the CV1 kit.

Excellent for the money
I compared these directly with the more expensive MDR-EX110LP earphones and there isn't much difference. If you are on a very low budget, these earphones will give you a good sound.
