Drones until it's broken in, then sounds great.
2 of 2 found this helpful Installed on a 2017 Q50s Red Sport 400. Installation of this sport muffler kit only took 30 minutes with the car on jack stands. The fitment was good, but I had to adjust the driver side hanger bracket about 1/4" to get the exhaust tip perfectly horizontally centered in the bumper cutout. It's an easy adjustment - the hanger bracket is bolted to the car frame with three bolts. Just loosen them, and the bracket is slotted to allow adjustment.
When I first drove the car with this muffler, I was a little disappointed because it droned at about 1800 RPM under light load. But after a few hundred miles, the drone subsided and now I actually love the sound. It's mildly aggressive without an excessive volume level.
What also helped was turning off the fake exhaust noise that these cars pump through the speakers. That's right, they have microphones placed at the front and rear of the car which capture and amplify engine and exhaust sound. You can turn this feature (called ASC) off. There's a hidden service menu that you access through the lower touch screen menu. There's a YouTube video showing how to do; just search for "Infiniti q50 turn off fake engine noise" (sorry, eBay won't let me paste a link here).
If you're looking for an exhaust that makes your Q50 sound more aggressive without being obnoxious, this is a good way to go.
