Google Nest Secure Alarm System Starter Pack White - Brand New - Fast Shipping

Great Value and Solution If You Want Full App Personal Monitoring w/out a Fee
I found the Nest Secure system easy to install and setup. All parts of it, from the door sensors to the key fobs and base unit, seem to be high quality and well designed. I have found most everything I want to do with the system is programmable if you take the time to look through all the menu choices. For example, how long do you want it give you on entry and exit before it alarms. Pros: High quality, well designed, many settings to choose from, great value if you don't plan to pay for a third party monitoring service. Unlike Simplisafe, this system let's you do most everything you could want in the phone app without having to pay a monthly fee. Imagine saving $15 to $30 a month or more on monitoring fees and then you might consider the higher prices for the Nest Secure system a pretty good value. Cons: As I understand it, starting this year, you can only activate the cellular backup system if you go with a professionally monitored service, and I think Nest has only partnered with Brinks, and I consider them kind of pricey (like $30 a month and up). And the Nest Detect sensors at $49 each are a little pricey if you need more than the two that comes in the starter system.

Honeywell Wi-Fi 9000 Touchscreen Thermostat - Silver

Own 6 of them
Between my office at work and my house, I have 6 of these in use, and they are all doing OK except for one. I think in May of 2018, Honeywell's provider for the software for these did a firmware update that cause some units to lose connection to WiFi and display Invalid WiFi Password even when the password is correct. If you Google this problem, you will see it affects some units, and you have to work to get their tech support to resolve / fix it. It might connect to a different network like a mobile hotspot, but not the original one. I still don't know what the problem is with that one unit. There are no special characters in the WiFi password, and two other units of the same model number are connected to the same WiFi network. I had to connect that one problem unit to a different WiFi network, and it works fine on that. I don't know if they have a glitch with the Linksys EA6900 router, but then why do the other two units work fine? But overall, 1 problem unit out of 6 is not too bad, and they have been otherwise reliable.

Good Value Compared to Alternatives
Own 6 of these between units at my office and home, and I have had no problems. Really good value for what it does and compared to things like Nest. Great to come home to a house at the proper temp while saving on HVAC during the times the home is empty. Ditto for office.
