Good product.

Worked to a degree and is worth trying.
I used this on my old light grey/ blue office carpets which were not particularly dirty and it did improve them.
Following the instructions, I used my Dyson to vacuum the carpets, then emptied it, sprinkled the Vanish on and lightly brushed it to spread it around, left it for 30 minutes, then vacuumed it up.
Some dirt appeared to have come off. Then the vacuum had to be emptied and the filters washed.
Verdict - worth a try at the cost. Less effort than using a carpet washer machine which I have used before. Probably be a better test on carpets that are very dirty, then any improvement could be more easily see. Hope that helps.
