LIONEL 25053 NEW YORK CENTRAL DOUBLE DOOR BOX CAR
10 Feb, 2021
Adequate for an O-27 sized box car
It is rolling stock. The graphics are OK to good. I prefer painted cars as opposed to molded in color cars and this is the later. My main complaint is (and this one rides on me since I didn't look it up in an old catalog before buying it) the car is an O-27 sized boxcar. This looks a bit small for a double door box car. Otherwise OK.
Ibanez AEB10E DVS Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar BROWN SUNBURST Fishman Pickup
28 Aug, 2019
Ibanez AEB10e sunburst review
The overall set up of this guitar was mediocre. The string action was much higher than I expected. However I don't have experience with an acoustic bass for comparison although I have been playing bass for over 50 years. My two Schecter basses (4 and 5 string) have really low and smooth action so they might be an unfair comparison. The neck aparently is some sort of bolt on as opposed to a dove tail. The neck turned out to be a bit loose. I tightened it up and also made a small truss rod adjustment and this improved action. It still plays more like a truck than a sports car but it is better. As to tone and overall volume, the bass is quieter than expected with pretty good tone. Since it is going to be used in a trio with a violin and acoustic guitar, I will have to use a small amp so that I am not buried. The Fishman piezo is adequate. I cannot recreate the acoustic sound with my small tube amp and the Fishman but that said, it isn't too bad. The price I paid for this "second" was about the same as a used one from a music store. This is the first time that I have ever bought an instrument site unseen on line. I would probably not do it again. If I had played this bass first, I would have kept looking for another instrument.
