This was my "great switch back" to trackballs. My last ones were from the PS2 era, and boy did I realize what I was missing. I've never skimped on pointing devices, and bought the nicer models from Razer, MS and Logitech. The main difference to this product: the pain in my wrist is gone. I have to do a fair bit of pointing and clicking on a daily basis, and used to take a break every few hours to let my right hand "cool down". These days I can used that time to relax instead. Using a trackball is like riding a bicycle: once you've learned it, it'll always come back to you. If you've never used one before, it'll take about a week of normal use to get used to it. This product isn't a compromise, it's actually more powerful than a regular mouse once you get going. The build quality is very nice, and I dare say it's better made than the TrackMan Wheel. It's also more accurate. All-in-all, a great product and good value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone! P.S. As there seems to be some confusion about the Mac OS compatibility of Logitech trackballs, I'm happy to report that this will work on Snow Leopard even without drivers. Compatible Logitech software is available on their site as well.
