Magnificent.
Simply to have a filmed record of the seminal television sources of iconic dramatic originals that were later adapted into Oscar-winning film performances that were arguably not up to the thespian quality of these originals is an incomparable treasure. The Criterion releases are the apex of film history preservation.

IT'S Sorkin. What else do you need to know?
This is Aaron Sorkin's initial foray into series television and is absolutely brilliant in every respect. The writing, the ensemble cast whose ability to verbally parry and dance to Sorkin's Chayefskian verbal choreography rendered them each and together unforgettable, making this, a mere two season show, a landmark in the television landscape.

Superb cast in a narrative dynamic that was unfortunately snuffed out before given the chance to explore its embryonic promise. More proof that some TV executives don't know jack.
