Carnauba Gold, personally disappointed!

Many claim they are selling 100% pure Carnauba wax however, pure Carnauba wax is far too brittle to be used on cars by itself so manufactures have to combine the wax with other substances to allow application to automotive paint. I swear by Carnauba wax and have used it for many years with my most recent purchases costing around £30 for 500ml, the best waxes have a yellow color and have a distinctive smell you will come to recognize after using a good Carnauba wax once.
This product, Carnauba Gold.
Firstly I purchased this as the advert claimed the pot contained 80% pure Brazilian Carnauba palm wax, yellow grade.
Upon opening the pack, I got a strong chemical smell, nothing like I have smelt before in a Carnauba wax, secondly the color is not yellow. I instantly condemned the wax in a few seconds however; I bought the wax so I thought I would try it. The vehicle I choose was a 2-week-old black Jaguar F-Pace so nice new paint.
I applied the wax as per instructions on the left hand side of the bonnet, and on the right hand side, I applied the last of my £30 a pot wax. Right away, it was obvious this product the Carnauba Gold did not provide any way near as much lustre or depth on the black metallic paint as my now depleted wax, so disappointed there but not surprised considering the smell and color. The next test, longevity, the vehicle was driven for a week which included about 400 motorway miles and a couple days in and around London . It was February so the wax got exposed to road salt, rain, mud and some sleet. The vehicle came back in the rain and right away I could see the Carnauba Gold had all but gone, the right hand side of the bonnet where my £30 wax was used was almost clear of water apart from a few fine wind streaked water bead lines. The Carnauba Gold side was as if it had not been polished for a while. I proceeded to power wash the vehicle without any soap or cleaning agents and I could see the Carnauba Gold simple had not held up for the week. I look at it like this, if I am going to spend 2 hours polishing a car, why would I use a wax that won’t last a week.
I am personally disappointed in the product and have now reordered a new pot of my original wax. The Carnauba Gold is now sat on the shelf, I might find a use for it one day but it won’t be on high-end cars.

Better than the branded pads from my local hardware shop.
Thinking I would get through lots of pads on a large 10-seat picnic bench, I didn’t use my regular supplier for cost reasons so I found these online to save some money.
I expected to use 10 to 15 pads based on previous experience with my usual pads but at this price it would not really matter, however to my surprise I completed the entire top using just two pads and the entire bench using just four pads plus the Velcro stuck so well when I come to remove the worn pads I really had to pull.
Not like my regular pads, which stick poorly when new and almost and sometimes did fall off.
I am very pleased with these pads and I would highly recommend the pads.
