What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty Paperback BESTSELLER BRAND NEW

bit of a soppy story
In all honesty i expected more of this book. Having read 'Truly, Madly Guilty' by the same author (which is fab - really well written and original in content with some interesting characters), I expected this book to be of similar standard. 'What Alice Forgot' is a very repetitive love-type story with over emphasis on infertility and the death theme. Sadly, even the more comical parts are not that comical. The idea, someone who lost 10 years of her memory, is a good one, but I just can't help feeling the content for this theme could have been far more original and faster paced. The diary extracts ,again, are a great idea, but just seem to wander off into vagueness; the blog idea better and more quirky. The main character, Alice is a bit wet too. Overall, if you like a basic no challenging, sugary love story with a few twists (that are actually somewhat predictable too), this book is okay; if you want a book that is a bit more stimulating with characters and a plot that really grips you and great touches of humour, buy a Sue Grafton I say.

Some great twists and observations of human nature
Overall, this book keeps you gripped from chapter to chapter - what is Cecilia's husband's secret? It turns out maybe there are a lot more things people have hidden throughout. Some acute observations of human nature and a quirkily written, this book is a good read - Louis de Bernier, P D James, Orhan Pamuk, it ain't, but if you're looking for a satisfying lighter holiday read, you can't go far wrong with this book. It's better than 'What Alice Forget' - 'Truly Madly Guilty' I preferred
