ELO, Still got it....

Jeff sounds better today than he did when I saw him live in the late 70's. Its great how technology can now help a sound engineer make a live artist sound close to the finished album. Its not just the improvements in sound engineering and speaker quality, but sound technology and sampling its self. The orchestral sounds being played on the keyboards to accompany a solo violin and two cello players are like having a full orchestra on stage. A good mix of old and new material, you even get a wilburys track thrown into the mix. All Jeff's band members must be so carefully hand picked, because besides being excellent musicians you can tell the music is being played as if they were the original members, like they helped write it. Having said that, it has been said that Jeff is a perfectionist so you wouldn't expect anything less. Vinyl hasn't gone up in price that much over the years and to me is still worth every penny. There's nothing quite like the touch and feel of a vinyl LP and cover artwork in your hands (three times the value with this album). So even if you haven't got a turntable, this is a must buy just as a collectors piece. Still my favourite band of all time. If I have any criticism about the mix for this concert and may be I'm being really picky, Jeff's vocal seems a little too dry at times, not enough stadium ambient sound. But the overall mix is sooo good. ELO Still got it.. brought back one or two memories (When I Was a Boy) Amazing Music.....
