Seven Soldiers of Victory by Grant Morrison
14 May, 2020
High-Concept Superhero Insanity
If you're looking at this title you're probably already a Grant Morrison enthusiast and there's little more I could tell you. If you're unsure, I'll give you a brief idea: high-concept super insanity. This "series" is not your usual superhero story, though the wonder of this collection is that it contains such a story. Basically it is a collection of intermingled miniseries' that revolve around a C-List DC character, each of which is part of a larger narrative (that none of the characters know they're a part of). Really high concept stuff that pokes and prods what superhero stories are about, incorporating many different sub genres such as westerns, pulps, horror, ultra-modern, fantasy, magic, super-technological, and a few others. This series takes some time and critical thought to navigate, but it is incredibly worth it.
