Great for a full HD LOTR experience
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a great boxed set of the Blu-ray full HD extended editions of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The packaging is compact and beautifully designed. Be careful choosing the set version, though. There are two versions of this same boxed set. One is Canadian and the other is US. The fronts are the same but the backs show some of the set description in French which indicates the Canadian version. I bought this Blu-ray upgrade to replace my previous DVD extended versions. Not only are the Blu-rays far superior in picture quality, but the whole set takes up much less room than the DVD boxed sets. The movies are still split across two discs for each movie, but that just means no compression was necessary to make the long run time fit on one Blu-ray each.

Great DVD set to complete the collection.
Good case design and quality, disk design, etc. The characters are awesome as usual. The only thing I wish was different was the actual video quality. There are four episodes per disk so on a large 50+ inch screen TV you can see excessive amounts of compression artifacts from having to cram three plus hours of video onto a disk designed for two hours. Still, great for completing my collection of seasons.
