Decent housings for the price.
1 of 1 found this helpful These are Decent Headlight housings for the price they run at. the plastic feels good quality and they seem to be sealed pretty well too. aside form some minor issues with connectors I had no issue installing these and they look fantastic once on the car. Dont buy these if you expect a 100% plug and play experience they require a bit of modding to get all the way hooked up, but if you want to get a decent set of housings on the cheap these will do nicely.
Pros:
1. They look nicer in person than they do in the sale images
2. they actually fit the car physically quite well
3 the do improve the look of your car
Cons:
1. the turn signal bulbs took some jiggling to get to seat in the holes
2. the extra light bar along the top doesnt fully light up and looks a bit weak
3. the connector to plug this into the car is USELESS. (more info on that below)
4. they have to be modified to fit HID bulbs (but only slightly)
so heres the deal on the connector. I have a 2001 A4 Quattro. and while the connector itself looks to be pinned correctly its too deep so the male end from the car never made contact with the plug. now all that said its a trivial matter to take some butt connectors and wire this up yourself, just grab a meter and some crimps and wire her up and you are good. they work fine once you have them all hooked up. if you arent comfortable doing that then you will have to shorten the plug that comes on these and i was more comfortable wiring it up myself than i was cutting a connector that may not fit afterwards.
(as one final note the fuses on my headlights where dead before i did this due to the old ones shorting out, so i dont have pictures of the low beams working but as far as adding HID bulbs to them you have to make a hole for the wires to get through because the stock one doesnt leave enough room, otherwise they took Xentec HIDs just fine.)

Its a cheap kit, it works fine, but dont expect it to be a professional solution out of the box
To be fair this DVR is fine, it has a Hard Drive port in the bottom thats a tad weird to get the drive into but not overly hard either. the cameras that come with it feel a tad light but look and work fine, night vision is clear, and the motion detection works as expected too. but... this is not a 1000 dollar HD security system with 2 way and a Hard Drive installed and the most fancy cameras money can buy, and its not meant to be, its meant to get you off the ground and secure. and it does that perfectly well. I didnt bother going to their website because of the review above mine (only review of the product at the time of buying) but the apps on the included CD work fine and dont contain any malware and neither do the mobile apps, (only tested the android version) all it took was some port forwarding on my router and the cameras work remotely without a fuss, just by scanning the little QR code from the DVR's menu into the app. the computer version only needed the ip and some other basic info to get set up, after that it works without issue.
I do have a few tips for anyone buying this,
1. the fancy face detection only works on camera 1 theres no way to actually change what camera it checks.
2. when setting up the motion detection, the red boxes are what it checks for motion, so blank out any roads or so on that you dont want to have the motion sensor constantly getting triggered by (i live in front of a freeway, i dont need to have every car that goes by set off a recording)
3. the power supply's this comes with are the wart type, so buying a cheap "squid" power cable is a good idea, otherwise good luck powering this thing on a common surge protector.
4. CHANGE THE DEFAULT PASSWORDS! no one ever does this, and the defaults are freely available online in the manuals for stuff like this, if you dont change the password, dont be mad when someone you dont know is watching your cams. you where warned.(its not that the device isnt secure its that people never change the easy password off of it like this thing, its default admin password is "123456" Come on now, how long is it gonna take for someone to check that, and have your cameras. be smart.)
overall though this kit works as advertised and was at a good deal, if you need a quick setup for a secutrity cam just grab this one, it will do what you need it to do. just buy a cheap hard drive for it, you need 160 gigs for a full 24 hours over 4 cameras, figure out how big of a drive you need based on this.
24 hours 160
48 hours 240
and so on, and so on.

its Plastic, But...
3 of 3 found this helpful its exactly what you pay for. if you want a metal machine pay the metal machine prices. if you just want a decent vending machine in your home that doesnt cost your soul to purchase grab one of these. they work just fine
