Best of British Television
Reviews are just a personal opinion but for me this is one of the great gems of British television, and It remains as strong today as when I watched it back in ’82. This was an ambitious project for a regional franchise (Yorkshire Television) as the costs of anything aviation related are always very high. Given the high level of authenticity it’s not difficult to understand why the finances were quickly drained.
The cast and crew are excellent and this for me is Roy Marsden’s finest hour, just a pity that Network DVD didn’t put a picture of the late Sean Scanlan on the DVD cover! I don’t think any restoration work has been carried out but it doesn’t detract from the enjoyment in any way. In the end a few disagreements and the rising costs caused the series cancellation, with just nine episodes completed from what was to have been a five year run.
