need high ceiling for two cars
The parking system works as advertised. It doesn't look very sturdy as it completely plastic, but it does the job. Very easy to install ... I am using it only with the supplied AC adapter. I'm not sure why you would need batteries in the unit anyway, as if you have an electric garage door opener and the power is out, it's not like you will need this to operate anyway.
The unit is pretty small, thus the lasers are spaced very close to one another. If you only have an 8 or 10 foot garage high roof, this is not going to work for two cars as you won't be able to aim the lasers wide enough for two cars. If you have a low roof, I would either buy two of these units, or two one laser units. My garage roof is about 20 feet high so I had no problems aiming it for two cars. You want to place it in between where the two cars will be parked.
The cord on the adapter is about five feet long, so you'll need a two pronged extension cord if you are going to have unit farther away from your power source. If you are going to install it, you want it to be within about six feet above where the beam will eventually shine down, but obviously you can aim it wherever you want.
The motion sensor should obviously be facing towards the door and unobstructed so it can see movement when you drive into the garage. I have a beam right across the top of my garage so I placed it on the door side beside the beam attached to the roof and I could still easily aim the lasers at the two cars.

Works great on Subaru Forester 2014
Bought a used Forester and needed a spare key since only one came with it.
Called a couple of locksmiths, and one of them programmed High security keys. Brought it to the locksmith and he cut it and programmed it inside the car with a laptop and the original key.
He noted that this was NOT a high security key, so the cost was actually $30 lower to program and cut it than originally quoted.
Very happy with the product, and the ease to get it programmed from a locksmith that knew what he was doing.
The locksmith noted that there is a letter imprinted on the key part of the key (metal). The letter could be D or E or F, etc.. The letter that is on the key that you buy should match the letter of the original key you have. He noted that some people buy keys on Amazon (or elsewhere) that don't match their actual key, so don't work in their particular year car. It is possible that different lettered keys could be for the same year, but that is not common. Either way, this one worked great in a 2014 Forester.
