Excellent Priced HRM with Foot Pod
The price on this product has been falling and now is the time to pick up this bargin. Please note, my review is based on the price of the product, there maybe many better products but i'm convinced not for this price.
Basically, it does what it says on the tin, measures your heartbeat and distance run. However, it also allows you to upload data to view these statistics and many others which it calculates for you based on this information.
To use a HRM I would first advise you read on the internet about the different target levels and then choose one. You can program the watch to beep when your heart beat falls below/above these levels, this stops you running too fast or slow. Using a HRM means you can change your running path and not have to worry if your covering the same distance, time etc cause you run according to your heart beat.
Negatives;
1) The battery in Footpod arrived dead. This is not the fault of the seller but more a fault of Garmin. Don't be surprised if it doesn't work on arrival, it is a very common fault.
2) Can be tricky to upload data FREE to 'Garmin Connect' (their website)
3) I switched on Hourly Chime & now i can't switch it off!
4) To change the battery on the watch looks complicated, luckily I haven't got there yet.
5) The 'Garmin Connect' website is very basic and has a few errors.
On the whole, for this price, get this watch if this is your first HRM. I can't see why on earth you would pay more. Infact, you can get the cheaper pack without the footpod. The only reason for getting the footpod would be to see over a period of time, if your running a longer distance based on the same time.

Used is a wet, humid, high temperate environment and seems to be holding up well. Used to cover rust spots before they spread.
