Fantasy tale, with a little real-life traction and some feel-good moments thrown in.
A tale of good vs evil, personified by Colin Farrell and Russell Crowe respectively, interspersed with a love story with the former and Jessica Brown Findlay.

Classic Holmes all the way.
Utilising the age-old characterisation by Arthur Conan Doyle, all the well-known deductive skills of Sherlock Holmes are given quite an adequate exposure in this movie. Too bad, the presence of the indefatigable Dr Watson was missing, although only mentioned in passing. Overall the detective skills were kept enthralling right up till the end.
