One of the most worn watches in my collection.
1 of 2 found this helpful In my opinion, the 62MAS is the best diver design in the history of dive watches. I would love to pick up an SLA one day. But for now, the SPB143 is absolutely phenomenal.
Just to get the negatives out of the way: the bracelet is not very good for $1000. It’s well built and all, nice mid-links, but the end links are very poorly fit and the top part of the clasp is clearly pressed. I wish they would invest a little more into end links and clasps on these higher end seikos. And I also wish the finishing was a little sharper. Think Hamilton finishing.
Still phenomenal though and I wear this watch at least 2-3 times a week. The balance of the dial is perfect, the date wheel is wonderfully placed to keep the dial symmetrical, the size is perfect, and it’s absolutely a strap monster. Well worth the price.

It’s a great watch. Massive, but good watch.
1 of 1 found this helpful Really nice flieger at eBay prices. Incredibly thin, thinner than IWCs, well finished with nice polished chamfer running across edge, nice looking caseback, decent bracelet although not the best.
An exceptionally affordable way to get a Swiss flieger with a Sellita SW200. IWC uses SW300, which is a thinner, supposedly higher grade movement than the 200, yet there watches are still thicker than Alpina’s Startimer. And start at like $5000. Go figure.
Biggest complaint is that it’s 44mm. I have somewhat larger wrists at 7.5”, and I prefer watches around 40-42mm. Fliegers are supposed to be large though so I suppose this is forgivable.

Legendary watch, future NOS collectors item
Just to be clear, this watch isn’t materially worth anywhere near the asking prices on eBay. It uses an outstandingly outdated movement with the 7S26 that doesn’t offer hacking or hand wind, it uses hardlex, aluminum bezel, mediocre finishing, cheap strap.
If you want to buy a watch to wear, then look elsewhere. Go get an orient or a lower end prospex with the 4R movement. If you want an SKX007J1 because it’s a LEGEND and you just want to own an icon, it absolutely is worth the current market prices. NOS will only get harder to find, so it’s not a bad thing having an SKX around.
