Good Replacements

A Classic and in an updated print with better audio
2 of 2 found this helpful Paul Scott's classic in its entirety. Great quality DVD with much better audio than the VHS.
A compelling and dramatic story of the last years of the Raj and a splendid plot thread that runs through all of the archetypal characters. Outstanding British and Indian cast--never disappoints !

As a fan, a must have....
Many of the chapters are pieces already published, but wonderfully compiled in a readable, nicely bound volume. Very few writers can match Salter for lyrical mastery, and writing as a journalist in many of these pieces contained herehe excels and raises the bar.....delightful! I miss him all the time.
