NOT QUITE THE SAME
Bought this as a replacement for my old one which was trashed by movers. This one is far noisier and the blade is stiffer moving and harder to turn when cleaning. Other than that it works just fine like the old one. Maybe I'll take the motor out of the old one and install in the new.

A SOLID SCIENTIFIC WITH 3 MEMORIES
1 of 1 found this helpful I HAVE BEEN USING ONE OF THESE IN ITS VARIOUS INCARNATIONS FOR 10 YEARS. THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS UNIT IS THE 3 MEMORY ADDRESSES WHICH NO OTHER MFGR OFFERS IN THIS KIND OF A UNIT.

RECIEVER IS GREAT-REMOTE SUCKS
I am on my 4th or 5th remote for my Yamaha RX-V3900. The receiver is great, the remotes however, suffer from design flaws. When it starts to fail first nothing will happen until you remove the 4AAA batteries and replace them in some new position. Don't ask me why. Then one button will fail to function until repeatedly pressed, then may fail completely, then other buttons follow the same pattern. I have taken it apart and cleaned all accessible contacts. The only fix is to get a new remote and take half a day reprogramming it. Doesn't matter where remotes come from, they are all the same. From Yamaha for about $120 including tax and shipping, or China for $26 to $32. The Chinese sourced are the same as original Yamaha. This is Yamaha's design flaw.
