A former classic which has not aged well
1 of 1 found this helpful I used to enjoy this a bit when I was young 30 years ago. When I played it for my 3 year old the other day I realised that the animation is not up to modern standards and whilst it was a great achievement when it was produced it is no longer consistent with the expectations of a contemporary audience. Worse still I think the style of animation appears somewhat sinister compared to a modern production. My daughter was not interested in the story, couldn't follow it and unusually, has not asked to see it again. I think the reason is that the themes of the story are very mature and not engaging.
