Do I need my coat today?

I've been using this weather station for over a year now and it has performed faultlessly. The display is clear and the radio controlled clock is spot on and picks up the time signal from Cumbria without fail. The transmitter / sensor is outdoors about 3 metres from the receiver, on the other side of a large double glazed window / brick wall and never fail to send it's signal. The temperatures shown are accurate to + / - 0.5 degrees when checked against a laboratory standard mercury in glass thermometer, impressive. I have used duct tape to ensure the sensor can withstand the rain and snow, not sure if it's needed, but it's worked well anyway. Sensor batteries have been replaced once after about 14 months but the display unit ones are still going strong. Battery drain current must be very small so not suitable for rechargeables. The weather predictor function is surprisingly accurate and probably uses a pressure sensor to measure variation in atmospheric pressure but I'm not certain of this, anyway it works!
