Replacement is a perfect fit

This antenna was a replacement for the original one on my X-Trail, which was stolen. I was worried it might not be a correct fit, because there are a number of different base screw size and thread combinations, but it turned out to be a perfect fit. It’s nice to have the radio working again.

Essential detail needed to pass your Dayskipper exam

I took an online study course for the theory part of my RYA Dayskipper rating, as I like to study at my own pace. While the course was very good, I found myself wanting to get a deeper understanding of some aspects, especially the navigation stuff. This book and the RYA Navigation Handbook by Tim Bartlett (which takes your nav theory up to Yachtmaster standard) provided the background I wanted, and I felt I came away with a greater depth of knowledge than I otherwise would. A superb book, the diagrams are excellent, and worked examples are clearly and fully explained.
