For the money you can't go wrong
2 of 2 found this helpful I've had this covered in mud, crud and all sorts of crap, it's been in the stream, dropped and thrown by my two year-old. Function wise, you might get half an inch more with the Garrett model, but I've found every target with this no issue.

Fantastic detector.
Bought this to upgrade from my starter machine, an Ace 250. Not gonna lie, it took me a while to get the hang of the settings and I'll be learning the machine for a while yet. However, it's fast, lightening fast to react, stable on the beach and in salt water and its so accurate that I rarely have to use the Pinpoint button.
