Lens Exchange Tool Wrench For Large Format Copal, Compur, Prontor #0, 1, 3 Shutt
21 Sep, 2017
Not very precise tool
This lens tool is supposed to fit the notches in the retaining rings on the backside of large format lens boards. The tool fit Copal #1 shutter ring precisely, but it was a fraction of a millimetre too tight to fit Copal #0 shutter rings. I expected it to fit and before I realized that it doesn't fit in the notches, the tool slipped and scratched the lens barrel. I had to use a metal file and modify the tool in order to make it fit the #0 shutter rings. I have not used it for #3 rings, since I don't have any shutters that size so I don't know if it fits or not. Other than that, the tool is made of stainless steel and works as intended after modification. The tool has sharp edges so you have to be very careful about slipping, it will scratch the lens/lens barrel. It was $7.00 cheaper than the Rodenstock tool sold in camera stores.
