Sturdy, looks great, good quality and keenly priced
1 of 1 found this helpful We have been wanting an aquarium for almost 20 years, but have never quite got round to buying one, and began at looking at pre-owned ones when we spotted this brand new set up at a really good price.
The cabinet was quick and easy to build, with fairly good instructions, and seems to be a very sturdy construction. The tank itself is incredibly robust - really thick glass - and is VERY heavy to the point that there is no way that it could be placed on anything other than it's own cabinet.
The supplied lighting and filtration is very good, and you can of course add external filtration or change the lighting if you wish. The pipe holes at the back of the tank for external filtration are a wee bit tight, but you can get the pipes in with a bit of imagination.
Despite the thick glass, the view is not obscured and it is crystal clear - the curved corners at the front being a little added bonus. Oh, and unlike many 4ft aquariums, this one is nice and deep which is really going to help keep good separation in a community tank.
Yes, there are tanks available that are better quality, but they are easily three or four times the price (and more!), and I would suggest that for the vast majority of people simply looking to get a good quality, new aquarium, this one is ideal. In just over a week, we have managed to get this up and running and to the point where we will be able to add fish in the coming days.

Happy, Healthy and just a wee bit cheeky.......
We got such a healthy pair, who have bags of character! Took them a day to settle into their new home, but quite quickly they started to show their characters and having fun - the male loves to swim into the bubble stream from our air brick, float rapidly to the top and then go around for another shot - - alternatively, he swims along the back of the tank, sneaks round the plants and looks at me to see if I am watching before darting off when I look.
The female is a bit more reserved, but even she is now starting to play in the plants, and will even sneak up on our plecs to try and pinch a bit of algae wafer.
We are very happy with all the fish we received, and they all seem very happy and healthy - we will not hesitate to buy from Kesgrave Tropicals again

Super healthy, super happy fish!!
Within couple of days, they were so settled in our tank that they would follow us as we passed by, have a nibble at fingers/arms when putting something in the tank, and feed very enthusiastically. We are giving a mixed diet (flakes, granules, bloodworm, daphnia) which they seem to love, and best of all, one of them must have been pregnant as within a few days we had to rapidly sort out some guppy grass as we had five tiny wee fry...... so far, they are surviving well, and are a real added bonus.
If you are concerned about buying fish over the internet (we were!) - don't be!! They were well packed, and the courier handling them was so gentle it was remarkable. All fish arrived in good health, and the service from Kesgrave Tropicals was first rate.
