Great product and even more amazing service
This Apple ATI Radeon 5770 video card replaced the XT1900 that I bought with my Mac Pro 1.1 in 2006 as an upgrade to the standard card. The XT1900 was always notchy – never behaving predictably over sleep, sometimes glitching on screen, always pretty noisy and often needing cleaning to prevent overheating. In complete contrast the 5770 behaves predictably, quietly and significantly faster with twice the VRAM. I bought it when I used the Pikify Scripting solution to enable my trusty Mac Pro 1.1 to run with systems later than MacOSX 10.7. With 16 gb RAM and the Apple ATI Radeon 5770's I gb of VRAM (& ability to run OpenCL/GL) the scripting solution has worked impeccably allowing me to run systems up to MacOSX 10.11 El Capitan. You can find the Pikify solution described in detail on the MacRumours web site under the thread "2006/2007 Mac Pro (1,1/2,1) and OS X El Capitan" Page 56, Item #1390. Latest updates on Page 180, #4476.
As a footnote. It is very important if you are putting a video card into an Apple machine that you choose one that was specifically built for use in a Mac. Flashed PC Cards will not give you a visible start up screen and this is seriously problematic, especially if you need to select choices in the boot sequence as you will if you're upgrading a serious work station like the Mac Pro.
