Don't waste your money.

Absolute piece of junk! Very poorly made. The pins are canted so the carriage will not slide smoothly up and down. The centering cone inside was off-center, so the platen would not center. Centering the bulls-eye doesn't help because that just masks the problem. (it indicated out of balance on a known good part.) I attempted to recenter the cone with a drill, but hit porosity. It is not worth the time to try to correct it, so it's heading for the dump.

Good old fashioned entertainment

I bought this DVD so I could compare it to the remake that was produced in 2004 by the Cohen brothers, which is hilarious. After watching the newer version several times, I was curious to see how it compared to the original 1955 English version. The story line is roughly similar, and there were a lot of tidbits thrown into the newer version that paid tribute to the original. Both are well worth watching. The reason I did not give it five stars is there was no closed captioning, although the box indicated it was closed captioned. Watching English movies, or more accurately, listening to English moves is a challenge, and without closed captioning, it was impossible to understand some of the dialog.
