A great read
Despite the fact that it is a little Harry Potter-esque, there are enough differences to make this book/ series interesting for adults & children. There are some thoughtful points or quandaries and a difference to see the adults/parents being the problems. A good holiday read.

Read it before the film!!
A good read. My class of 10-11 yr old children thought the book was excellent and asked me to read it. As usual it needs to read before the film, as the film changes the characters around. Thoughts of main characters make it a good read.
It can be a little slow in areas but picks up well. Good for older children through to adults. It's not brain surgery but it is entertaining and ingenious.
