About
My interests are varied, in that I love buying and selling on Ebay. Times were that people would buy from shops, but today it s all about competitiveness, I like to think that I bring this to my audience.

Refreshingly simple
Himalayan rock salt has been part of the bedrock of Himalayan culture for thousands of years, it's benefits are clear and have been subscribed by many in the western world. I bought this because of it's cleansing ability; once lit you can feel and smell the freshness it gives out, I have not felt as fresh for a long time, as it revitalizes as well as cleans the air surrounding it. The red/orange glow at night is soothing to the eye, it brings an overall calm into any living space. Let's face it, these days we need as much calm as we can get, and these Himalayan salts are just the ticket.

Watch out for intermittent cutting out!
1 of 1 found this helpful The Acer 8920g is at first glance 'impressive', it has a lovely blue into black lid with ACER lighting up in the centre. The media controls to the left of the keyboard are 'handy' if you play DVD's or a lot of music, other than this you might not use it much. It is quiet, sleek, elegant and has a crystal-clear screen that is both sharp and easy on the eyes, measuring 18.1 inches diagonally.
The speaker system is good, it has 'trubass' at the back which gives out clear bass sound along with 5.1 surround speakers, you can expect crystal clear sound through them. The downside is that acer partition the 250gig drive into 3; 1 is for the operating system and files, another has an image backup and finally the last one is empty, ready to put on whatever you want. Now, consider this scenario; you bought the laptop only to find that after 12 months use the hard drive dies, all files gone, operating system gone...How do you get out of this?
The one thing that I feel is needed is to supply a complete set of professionally burnt DVD's of both the operating system AND drivers/programs.
Then if the hard drive dies (out of warranty) you can pop a new 2.5 inch drive in and re-install back to normal. I don't like the idea of putting operating system images on the same drive, it makes no sense, maybe it's alright for the average user who can use the 'idiot-proof' image to backup but if the hard drive is dead how can this be achieved?
They do request that you make a set of backup disks before you start using the laptop which is ok I guess but how many know how to burn image files I wonder?
The laptop has a problem with the cooling fan, I received mine in perfect working order, then I decided that I did not want the windows vista premium nor the partitions, so removed ALL partitions and started an install of windows 7 RC1 - it suddenly cut off, no warning, nothing! So I did what is known as a 'static-reset', remove the battery and power supply, then hold the power button down for 30 seconds, this did not work either, so I tried to backup the drive using the DVD's but still no joy. I sent it back to acer to which they found was a faulty hard drive (I thought they tested their machines?) when it came back I managed to put windows 7 on and is working perfect.
Apparently a great many laptops end up going back to acer within the first month of purchase so maybe it is time for acer to start testing more machines?
Obviously this is my view and no one else's, although I have talked to a few people who own the 8920g and have the same problems.
Altogether though it is a striking laptop with loads of features, it boasts a radeon 3650 mobility card with 512 megs of ram on board! It plays blu-ray disks and plays them flawlessly, image quality is second to none when playing games also i.e. quake 4.
Overall it is an excellent laptop flawed by a minor problem, it would be nice to see a set of professionally burnt backup DVD's instead of them giving you instructions on burning your own and getting rid of the idiot-proof partitions.
It would also be nice to see 'demo' versions of software turned into fully licensed software i.e. macfee anti-virus. Having said that, do away with those bloated programs and use better FREE alternatives instead.
There is a way of keeping the cooling fan running whilst installing an operating system, when you get to the install screen where it starts to 'extract the files' keep moving the mouse!! it works!!! it really does!!

Thick and creamy foam that cleans really deep
I have always used Kirby foam shampoo on my carpets. For some obscure reason I still cannot fathom, I decided to try Selfoam C005 and I am glad that I did. It cleans the carpet exactly the same as the Kirby product and is much cheaper. I found it left no residue and vacuumed nicely, leaving a sweet-smelling carpet.
I own two Staffordshire bull terriers and as anyone who is acquainted with the 'Staffy' will know about their 'bully runs'. These are moments of pure madness where they run around in circles chasing one another - knocking over anything that isn't bolted down! As one can imagine, this leaves hairs and dust in the carpet. Using a foam instead of a carpet cleaner, it is virtually dry cleaning and as such can be done weekly if needed. At first I was a little sceptical deviating from the norm but I was quickly reassured once I had used the product.
Selfoam C005 does exactly the same job as Kirby's product, leaving a carpet that is both clean and dry after 2 hours! The foaming is thick and creamy, which takes a little longer to dissipate which is a bonus in my humble opinion. For the foam has more chance to reach those hard to get fibres before it vanishes. If you use a Kirby shampoo, why not give this a try instead? I can guarantee you that you will not be disappointed. A first class product.
