Hard Target
This one here was directed by John Woo, and in the action scenes, you can tell. The way the actors hold and fire the guns, and the long takes of the actions, really do sum up Woo's style, well, back then at least.
Damme does decently, even though his character is boring at times (not sure if that's a script or acting problem or both), but this has Lance Heinreiksen and the (new) Mummy himself, Arnold Vosloo, as the main bad guys, and they make for a very wicked and fun team.
The music is a tad jarring and distracting at times, but others it works very well.
The plot isn't anything new, but never really insults the audience, which is nice.

Fun Twist Makes It Better
The acting is quite good, especially for a DTDVD horror flick; with one exception. The plot is fairly predictable until roughly, 45 minutes in, when a twist makes for a very rewarding experience that makes the movie much more engaging. Solid make up and gore effects should satisfy all horror hounds.
