A really suitable brush washer for a plain air painting outfit
This is an excellent brush washer for painting in the field. The heavy-gauge stainless steel is very robust, and the resilient rubber seal is made even more reliable by three spring clamps instead of the two that I saw on most other washers.
At about one cup (250 ml) capacity, it's a really appropriate size for working outdoors -- sometimes it's key to find a piece of gear that's small enough.

Another use for cogged sewing machine belts!
1 of 1 found this helpful Okay, actually I got this for a purpose totally other than as a sewing machine component. A while back I bought a vintage valet stand -- you know, the wooden frame with hangers for a suit jacket and trousers, and a tray on top for accessories. The bar for the trousers had a routed-out slot where a ribbed rubber strip had been once glued in place to keep the trousers from slipping off. It occurred to me that a ribbed (cogged) 1/4"-wide rubber belt would be a darn close substitute -- maybe that's what the original designers used. Anyway -- voila! -- this one was a perfect replacement.

The SAAB of umbrella stakes
Sturdy businesslike tool made in Sweden, solid construction, about 7/8-inch throat looks like it would accept wide range of umbrella pole diameters. Footstep drives it into ground efficiently, steady support.
