    Bach 36 Stradivarius Series Trombone
    28 Jun, 2016
Best all-around trombone on the market
Growing up, my private trombone teacher would often say that the two best all-around horns on the market were the King 3B and the Bach 36. I own two Bach 36s, one with an open-wrap F attachment and another without an F attachment, and they're my two favorite horns. It's a medium-bore horn, which means it takes substantially more air to fill it than, say, a Bach 12 or Bach 16 (although not as punishing as a Bach 42), but if you can adapt to it, it gets an absolutely beautiful, warm tone. Bach makes notoriously precise horns, meaning if you attempt a note without a perfect embouchure and air stream, a note that could sound "bent" on another horn may just be a clam on this one. A professional horn, for better and worse, but a joy to play if you can master it.
