A missed opportunity
I was really looking forward to reading this book having heard an excerpt from it read on the radio. So keen was I to read it that I put it instantly to the top of the pile of books that I have set aside to read. However, I started to get suspicious about it by the time I got to page 15. On it the author had listed Churchill and Roosevelt as villains of the 20th century alongside Lenin and Stalin. Arriving at page 56 the theory of ancient Cheddar man having dark skin was given as a fact. Back in 2018 this idea was debunked and the New Scientist withdrew this assertion. (you can google it). Unfortunately the book is peppered with this kind of wokery and I began to doubt the veracity of the rest of the book, which is a shame as the premise of Pathogens effect on human history is a fascinating one. This book would possibly suit a Guardian reader but for others they may want to do some fact checking as they get through it. This is the authors first book. I won't be buying any others that he has planned.

Tears like tissue paper.
This product lasted less than a week. perhaps it was because it was in the hot sun for that time? Still it should be able to stand up to most weather. Instead it tore like a piece of tissue paper on the third time of using when removing it from the washing line. Useless and an absolute waste of money.
