Quality replacement part that significantly improves my guitar's playability
Chris did an outstanding job with this custom made bone saddle. I had a rare Ovation 1537 with action rather too high for my taste and no further reduction possible as all shims beneath the bridge had been removed. A neck reset looked likely, but that's expensive and I wasn't sure whom to trust the work to.
Then I found this! I sent Chris my original Ovation bridge/pickup assembly and asked him to duplicate it, but to reduce the height by 3mm, in turn reducing the action. Chris refined my idea by suggesting that it was made slightly oversized, which produced a really snug interference fit when offered to the guitar. Now I have lowered action to my taste AND I still have a shim beneath the new bridge, allowing the option of further action reduction. Wonderful!

180G vinyl reveals new delicacy of musical touch on this classic
There's good and not-so-good here. I'm a long time Zeppelin enthusiast, going back to their heyday in the 70s. I love vinyl, so this seems a match made in heaven.
The Good.
The sound! Did I say the sound! The acoustic tracks on LZ3 are ideal for the 180G treatment. Dead flat vinyl with not a click or crackle. Every nuance of Page's guitar, every warble of Plant is crystal clear. You CAN hear little things, such as the count-in on Tangerine, that weren't really audible on the 70s pressing of this. This remaster and reissue is also of much higher quality than my original pressing. Side 2 is tremendous, especially Gallows Pole and That's the Way. SIBLY on Side 1 is also spellbinding.
The Not-so-Good.
The content of the second disc is very disappointing. Rough mixes and alternative versions don't really cut it here. The rough mixes are just that, and the alternative versions aren't alternative enough really. The additions such as Jennings Farm Blues aren't up to the standard of 'Poor Tom' which didn't make LZ3. If only Page had included a contemporary live performance here instead as he did with the 180G issue of LZ1. There are lots of great 1971 and 1973 shows he could have drawn upon.
More Good.
The price!!! I purchased this with my eyes open and suspected that the second disc would be a bit mixed. But at a substantial discount from the original RRP this is still well worth having.

First class construction and finish. A real little rocker at an astonishing price!
This is a great little guitar! Beautiful build quality - if you're sceptical about how Korean built guitars are put together (as I was), then breathe easy because the quality control exercised by PRS is exceptional. The finish is flawless. Woods used are top quality (remember this is Korina!). Hardware is also first class. Intonates and holds tune perfectly. Plays well with a very comfortable action. I bought this primarily because of the Korina construction and the simple layout, but now I'm actively looking for other SE versions as I'm so impressed. It's a real keeper and superb value for the price! £599 new would be a good price but second hand these are extraordinary guitars for your money.
Placing this in context - I have USA built Ovations and Kalamazoo built Gibsons together with quality Japanese guitars, and this is right up there with them in terms of construction and playability.
