Great savory protein option in a world of mostly sweet shakes. Blend & enhance--be creative!
1 of 1 found this helpful I use this chicken soup for protein when I'm up in the middle of the night or early.
You can add your favorite dried or fresh spice, leftover green (low sugar) veg (blended or whole), to add fiber and make yourself more full. Lately I've been adding heated okra, which I buy frozen at the Costco Business Center. Great fiber, low calories, and apparently --google it--good for digestion.
I like to boil the water AND use the blender to make it.
Just shaking isn't the same...it isn't nearly as good! Blend!
(The same rules apply to the shakes, which are far better blended, and improved by adding some milk, ice and maybe a healthy additive. We've added Matcha green tea powder to the vanilla shake. It tastes like green tea ice cream, you get a caffeine bump and antioxidants (which is always good).
Since the pandemic and the need to bump up our immune systems, combined with the social distancing rules that have eliminated breath & BO being an issue, I'll often add a few cloves of garlic--big ones!-- and some fresh turmeric, which they periodically have at Costco.
Upsides of this awful pandemic....less traffic and you can blend raw garlic into your breakfast! A little silver lining.
Enjoy!
