Too noisy to be useable

Came out of the box needing repair. Adds too much noise to the signal chain and hums no matter what power supply is used. Doesn't seem to react well with other pedals in a chain. Knob dial is a very loose fit and it tends to fall off at the slightest touch. Maybe this is just a duff example but if so there is lots of room for improvement.
