Does what it looks like.
I always try to use 2 cameras when shooting my videos.
This answers some of my problems when fitted on my tripod, and I can also clip a fitting to it to take my Zoom 6 recorder too.
Very handy bit of metal :-)

The Real Deal.
Why would anyone wish to fit a Generic one ?
This was for my HF-G10 and fits and removes easily inside the hood.
The generic ones do not !

EXCELLENT ITEM
It does what it is made for, Mono out via a 3.5mm jack plugged item, into the female end of yhis, and you now have 2 tracks into the next item you go into.
I use it often and bought 2.
