Swiss Radio Days: Jazz Series, Vol. 16 Oscar Peterson
If you want an Oscar Peterson from the early 50's this is not it
If you are a fan of JATP then this is a good session with the usual mix of great and not so great solos. Young and Phillips take strong solos and Willie Smith is very much on his game throughout. The only Peterson of note is the intro to C Jam Blues and a wonderful interpretation of Tea for Two with Krupa and Smith where he tips his hat to Teddy Wilson

Some good Will
This album is not as good as it could have been . Davis is a great pianist but by the time you discount the 2 cha cha tracks and the opening blues track which is way below par , you end up with about 20 minutes of great piano trio.( whole album runs 33 minutes)
The only other recording I am aware of is with Kenny Burrell on Prestige ( Soul Call) and contains some very strong Davis, worth checking out.

They will be missed
Great to be reminded how brilliant these artists were . Well worth the price of entry ,
Diz is wonderful as usual and Monk surprises with a great solo on Tour de Force . Blakey
drives the group with powerhouse drumming , all in all a great set
