Nikon D80 - Amazingly capable - A GREAT Camera
5 of 5 found this helpful First of all, Nikon build quality, I mean, it's built like it means business, and after all, 10 million pro's will not look at anything else, so that's good enough for me. If Carlsberg made cameras, they'd probably come up with something like this. As it is, all the bells and whistles actually have a useful function,and that is to help you produce images that you will be proud of.
Compared to a bridge / compact, it feels big and heavy, but it is still extremely comfortable to hold. It does not take long to get used to the control layout,and all the buttons etc feel just right. I bought the body and lens separately, and went for the 18-200 VR. the lens is a great choice is you're scared of dust on the sensor, as it means you'll hardly ever need to change. I'll be looking for a macro at some stage, though.
So far I've not found anything to dislike about it, and the reason for purchase was one of practicalities. Why upgrade a small step at a time, when for a pretty reasonable cost you can go straight to the top in one jump?

Brilliant, capable, with great features, but please improve the user guide
1 of 1 found this helpful The only downside is that the instructions are not particularly well written. Otherwise great value and very capable system. Thankfully Dale at the end of the helpline was able to get me sorted in just a few minutes.( but I had already struggled for a couple of hours before I got through to him)
It works just as it should, and having the ability to move the thermostat around to get the best location is a real good feature.
Love the variation from what we had previously - specifically the 'off' period is now a demand for a lower temperature, rather than a simple 'off- and take your chances with the weather' command. This means there is a temperature safety net, preventing the house getting too Baltic on a winter's night.
Also the internet connection gives me so much more precise control, from anywhere I may be !
Great unit - I would have given it five stars but for the confusing instructions.

HTC HD2 Mobile Phone - Very Impressive !
I've had the HD2 for five days now, and I'm impressed! Love the sheer usability of it. Good camera, good email facilities, good for internet browsing, battery life is not too bad, considering all the features. Great screen, love the menu system. I've put my copy of Co-Pilot GPS onto it, and it's the best! Big screen makes all the difference. If I had to really get nit-picky, I'd have to say I miss the voice recognition phone dialing I had on my TYTN2. Having said that, HTC have made it pretty damn easy to find the number you need to dial, even though you still have to look at the screen. Otherwise, it's hard to find fault. Overall, I'd say it's the best mobile phone I've had by a long way, and one or two of my friends seem to covet my HD2 more than they do their iPhones !
