Wii = Whee!
We actually bought 3 Nintendo Wii's as Christmas presents for our childrens' families, figuring that a "family gift" was easier than trying to guess what might be appropriate for each person in each family. That was the greatest gift idea we could have come up with. EVERYONE loved the games, and my wife and I had so much fun playing on the kids' systems that we subsequently bought one for ourselves (who said Senior Citizens can't have fun too).
We recently also bought ourselves a Wii "Fit", and have found that this is the greatest way in the world to get us up and exercising. It is so much fun to use that you forget you are actually exercising. Besides getting the benefit of the exercise we have had a room full of belly laughs watching each other adapt to the games which obviously designed by programmers much younger than ourselves. The programs, however, are geared to work at whatever level of strength and agility you are at.
I tell you Grandma and Grandpa are the envy of all of the grand-children now because we have a "Fit." Okay, maybe we aren't FIT yet, but we have one and we are enjoying using it faithfully.

No Longer A Couch Potato
1 of 1 found this helpful This really, REALLY is a fun way to exercise. You get so involved in enjoying yourself that you forget you are exercising. My only complaint is that I get so involved that I forget how much time I am spending with it and my web-surfing is suffering!
I would recomment it for any age. My wife and I (grandparents) are the envy of our grand-children (ages 5 thru 12) because we have a "Fit." We can actually challenge each other and have a lot of fun and laughs as we play (I'm sorry, I meant to say work out).
Buy one, if you can find one, you won't regret it. It's great for the whole family.

Greater freedom now
1 of 1 found this helpful 16 cell battery has been wonderful. The basic (8 cell) works fine, but most of my outside activities last more than 4 hours, and I was constantly forgetting to monitor my battery time. With the 16 cell battery I get double the battery life and donm't have to remember to check my battery for most outings. It is a bit heavier, but I have not even noticed the weight difference.
