Great All Around
1 of 1 found this helpful Found this lens to meet my expectations in ease of use and quality. The macro gives me another opportunity when creating images that I did not have with my other lenses. Fast response on the auto focus. Only bad thing is that now Tamron has a 18 - 400 which just came out.

superb all around lens
9 of 9 found this helpful Fantastic lens for the money. Did own a Tamron 16-300 and purchased the 18-400. It was a little stiff at first but then worked its way out of it. Very responsive and takes fantastic images. Have used in in a lot of different applications so far and it has exceeded my expectations. This lens will rarely be off my camera. Used it for some images at a Track Meet and then out Turkey hunting and everything was fantastic. You would not be disappointed if you were to add this lens to your arsenal.

Great for Indoor Sports
4 of 5 found this helpful I purchased this lens mainly due to the 2.8 speed of it. I take a lot of indoor sports pictures such as Volleyball and Basketball and found I had to shoot with ISO around 1200-1600 with 1/125 to 1/60 shutter speed to get acceptable quality images recorded, yet a lot of the action shots remained somewhat blurry. I took images for the first time with this lens just the other day and my ISO was at 800 with 1/125 to 1/250 and the images are superb with very little if any motion blur. A definite answer to my indoor sports photo issues. Can't wait to try it out on some wildlife action. Highly recommended.
