2xasus eee pc 701 pc notebooks

I received both ok,but i have discovered that one of them has a faulty hard drive so the operating system will not load onto it.I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade to xp on the machine that works because i have a 3 Dongle and i can not find the driver for linex.
