Essential for Belaying and Abseiling Thin Rope
Very well made and effective for belaying and abseiling with ropes in the 6-7.5mm range, that no other device (that I've found) works with.
You need to practise with it though; I use the very thin Petzl RAD line and even with the use of the 'ear' on the side of the Nano you will need to get used to how little friction there is. Always use a Prussik knot.
It's also small and light, so perfect for glacier travel and ski touring without adding a lot of weight to your pack.

Solid, works first time, easy to set up.

Extremely Useful For Lens Protection
Over many years of photography, skylight filters like this have saved me thousands in lens repairs, thanks to protecting the lenses of all my cameras from dust, and also if they are dropped. Don't believe what you read online about them affecting your photos badly; the positives outweigh any barely-discernible negatives.
