Original Motion Picture CD Soundtrack Recording 'Romeo Is Bleeding' Sealed New
09 Jan, 2020
Romeo is Stylish
The music on this soundtrack has a definitely jazzy feel to it, much like the music of the various noir films of the past. The style of the music reminds me of the jazzy score that Jerry Fielding wrote for The Gauntlet, which I enjoy very much. The cues are not overly long or incredibly short, just the right length to appreciate the flow of the music. This does not surprise me since I own other soundtracks composed by Mark Isham, which, if i remember correctly, tend to involve gritty, action-oriented films such as Running Scared. I recommend this soundtrack highly; however, I question the efficacy of this, since it seems this soundtrack is nearly unobtainable in today's market. I myself had to purchase a copy which was remainder-marked but gratefully undamaged.
Miller, Roger : Golden Hits CD

Roger Sings Memories
I'm sorry but I fear this review may not be helpful to others in the general sense. Usually when I buy greatest hits collections I research them and find the one with the best quality and the largest amount of music. I did not do that this time for one special reason: I wanted this album and this album alone. Why? Because a vinyl copy was in my father's small collection of music. When I was a kid he listened to this album frequently, along with his Johnny Cash records. I bought this CD, imported it into iTunes and loaded it onto my iPod. Driving to work one recent morning, I listened to it and sang along, when I could, smiling all the while. Although I hadn't heard the album in years, I could anticipate the songs as they came along. As far as I could tell, the songs sounded just as good on the CD as they did on the record. I can answer no fidelity questions. No songs were missing, as on a Christmas CD I recently found on Amazon that we used to own on vinyl. I am greatly pleased by this purchase and plan to listen to it every so often to remember a childhood long ago. I told you that this review is heavily biased by nostalgia but I can't help it.
A Clockwork Orange - Original Soundtrack [Canada - Warner Bros CD2573] - MINT

This Clock is Right on Time.
Although I am no expert on the films of Stanley Kubrick, I am able to notice that he tends to use classical music in the soundtracks. Barry Lyndon, A Clockwork Orange and 2001: A Space Odyssey make good use of classical music to set the mood of a scene in his films. It also seems to me that he uses classical music to illustrate the irony of its use in a scene. Also, it is no small wonder that the piece he seems to use most in Clockwork is The Thieving Magpie - maybe a nod to Malcolm McDowell's character. The use of this music in lieu of the actual sounds of a scene seem to give the scene even more poignancy than it would have without it. Obviously my opinion and a possible subject for debate.
